Meet The Mountain Air Marketing Team – Kate Busswitz

Name: Kate Busswitz

What you do at MAM: SEO

Three words that describe you: Loyal, Compassionate, Driven

What was your very first job?

I played collegiate volleyball and consider it to be my first job, as it consumed most of my time. Beyond a couple summer gigs working at golf courses and bakeries, I started my first job with an online orthopedic brace company working on the marketing side doing SEO, content creation, and social media for the business. I learned so much in this role and it really sparked my interest for the world of marketing.

What’s your favorite thing to do when not working?

You can almost always find me with my golden retriever Maple, relaxing at home or exploring the beautiful state of Colorado. I love cooking, farmers markets, and working out. I also help coach a girls volleyball team with a local club.

When did you know you were going to go into Search Engine Optimization?

I didn’t realize this was the route I would take until my senior year of college. Like I said, athletics took up a lot of my time and energy therefore I was rather unsure of what I would want to do after graduation. Upon starting an internship exploring the world of SEO, I knew it was something I wanted to dive further into!

Who inspires you the most in your career?

Women! I’ve been surrounded by strong women all my life and I continue to gravitate towards them. They have always inspired me to push myself beyond my comfort zones. Working side by side with other successful women at MAM is that reminder each day. They have proved you don’t have to sacrifice your family or self to have a successful career.

What is one encouraging thing you want to tell other small businesses?

Put in the time now, so that you don’t have to later. The more you push things off, the more work it creates with time. Establish your goals and make your vision clear. Things may change along the way, but having a clear vision from the start will help carry you forward. It’s important to keep that momentum moving!

What do you think small businesses should know about Digital Marketing?

Stay updated, and in-the-know because trends are changing faster than ever. There is always something you can optimize. We all have a digital device in our pockets, so an online presence is more important than ever. Establish your voice and put time into creating the face of your business. It will be so worth it in the end! Sometimes all you need is an outsider’s perspective to bring your vision to life, so don’t be afraid to ask the experts for some help!
